Romeo Santos and Prince Royce, two of the most important figures of Bachata internationally, once again highlight Dominican talent by selecting La Perversa and Shalim Ortiz as the central figures of the music video for “Lokita por mi”, one of the thirteen songs included in their most recent collaborative album, “Better Late Than Never”. In the audiovisual, La Perversa participates, one of the most beloved and popular female artists of the urban genre in the Dominican Republic, who takes on a leading role that marks a new step in her career, expanding her presence beyond music into the acting field, which she has exploited after recently debuting in the cinema in the film “Media Hermanas”. Next to her, actor Shalim Ortiz, recognized and respected for his career in film, music, and television, contributed mastery and the “leading man” aura to the project, bringing to life a key character within the story that unfolds in the video. His participation adds an interesting contrast to the role played by La Perversa. The chemistry between both protagonists is one of the main attractions of the audiovisual, showing in the introduction and end of the video a scene where they show conflicts, arguments and jealousy typical of a “toxic” sentimental relationship, elements that go hand in hand with the lyrics of the song performed by Santos and Royce.

The choice of La Perversa and Shalim Ortiz not only responds to their popularity and talent, but also to Romeo Santos and Prince Royce’s intention to highlight Dominican figures who represent different artistic expressions, uniting the urban genre, acting, and bachata in the same visual proposal. The temperature in Miami is rising, and it’s not because of the heat. With the highly-anticipated show Grand Hotel, from executive producer Eva Longoria, finally premiering Monday, June 17, South Beach will never be the same. Shalim Ortiz, who plays hotel manager Mateo, stopped by HOLA! USA to reveal what viewers can expect from the new ABC show. “Grand Hotel in three words –sexy, mysterious and unpredictable,” he says. And although there will be plenty of drama taking place inside the hotel, off screen the cast that also includes Roselyn Sanchez, JenCarlos Canela and Demián Bichir really bonded. “Everybody kind of does their job, and everybody is so generous,” he adds. “There’s no prima donnas; there’s no egos. It really is a dream cast.”

The dad-of-three, who knows just how quick time flies with his little ones, also gave such praise to Eva. “[She] is a force of nature. I think everybody who knows her says the same thing – she is a workaholic and wears so many hats at once,” he notes. “This is her baby, and to me it’s an honor to be a part of it. Just to take Eva’s words, it’s very important for us as Latino actors and spectators to support a show like this that has Latinos in different job positions, not your cliché and typical roles but just a role of power.”

Starring Carolina Miranda, Luis Ernesto Franco, Michel Duval, Jorge Zárate, Diego Cadavid, Ana Lucía Domínguez, Oscar Priego, Rodrigo Guirao, Alberto Agnesi, Aurora Gil, Oka Giner, Mauricio Henao and Jonathan Islas, with a special participation by Gaby Espino, the ambitious production is being filmed in locations along the US-Mexican border, including Tijuana, San Diego and McAllen, and at Baja Studios in Rosarito, Mexico, the set for films and series such as “Titanic,” “Pearl Harbor,” “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “The Walking Dead.”
